Netflix’s THE DEFENDERS on Entertainment Weekly
Netflix’s THE DEFENDERS do not go on air until mid-2017, but promotional campaign continues on, with the latest being the cover-shoot for Entertainment Weekly magazine (Image above), as well as press release stills to gawk at the members of the fictional NYC crew - including Carlie Cox as “Matt Murdock” AKA “Daredevil” (but not in superhero suit), Krysten Ritter as “Jessica Jones” (arguably the best Marvel superheroine on television now), Mike Colter as “Luke Cage” (in signature yellow, but no tiara or chains), and Finn Jones as “Danny Rand / Iron Fist” (you’ve got to see the animated gif attached at the bottom of this post :p).
Also “revealed” is actress Sigourney Weaver as “Alexandra” - the “villain” of this series.

Set a few months after the events of the second season of Daredevil (actor Charlie Cox confirms this with a soundbite posted below), the superheroes Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist team-up in New York City. The Defenders will consist of eight episodes, and is scheduled to be released in mid-2017.
"Well, it’s been a few months since the end of season 2. I think it’s been quite a challenging few months for him. He took the death of Elektra very badly —I think he feels responsible for that. One of Matt’s big things is trying to protect the people he loves, which is why he keeps his identity hidden, and he’s failed. He’s left holding the dead body of a loved one, and so I think he’s tried to turn a corner.
It’s almost like quitting an addiction in the hope that it will get easier. He’s perhaps a little bit lost, and the best he can do for now is to not engage in his vigilante activities. When we meet him at the beginning of The Defenders, I’m not sure he’s completely found peace with that idea. I think he’s doing the best with what he can at the time. He finds himself between a rock and a hard place, which is the crux of his issue really from the beginning of season 1. 'Should I or shouldn’t I? What is more beneficial to society?'" Here are some BTS / behind-the-scenes stills of said shoot for EW (Source: ew.com), along with a personal “watch-wish” = Can’t wait to see if ever the “Daughters of the Dragon”; Simone Missick as “Misty Knight” (from Luke Cage) and Jessica Henwick as “Colleen Wing” (from Iron Fist) will EVER team-up tho LOL
