#Supergirl on Television
"It's not a bird. It's not a plane. It's not a man. It's Supergirl.
Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped amid its destruction years ago with her famous cousin. Now at the age 24, she finally embraces her superhuman abilities to be the hero she was always meant to be.
In the new drama from the world of DC Comics, Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El, embraces her superhuman abilities and becomes the hero she was always meant to be. This Fall on CBS." (Text)
When the first image of this new incarnation of Supergirl hit the web not too long ago (reposted at bottom of his post), I was apprehensive - not for the lack of action (whatever it may ensue), but for the darker-looking costume all superhero-costumes look these days, like the "real world" is all gritty and grimy (except for Spider-Man, but that was over texturized for my tastes anyways) … seeing the costume here now, especially with a cute girl (I am not gonna lie), I am actually quite excited to watch this series! Of course the action and tone seen in the trailer above is "interesting" as well (excluding the "Ally McBeal" I could do without, fhanks) and a take on the "secret identity" phenom is intriguing, and I want to see how it plays out.
One other stand out factor which endears this to me (at least the trailer did), was that they showed something which was sorely missing from recent incarnation(s) of celluloid Superman - The ripping open of the shirt/blouse to see the "S" chest crest! Score one for us old-timey-geeks! YAY
Meanwhile, more screengrabs to be had (yes, I went crazy on this one :p) and more production info and cast , which also features "James Olsen" (a different depiction on the comicbook "Jimmy Olsen"), and the name "Hank Henshaw" stands out, as he turned into the "Cyborg Superman" in the comicbooks and was one of Superman's nemsis! hhhmmmm
