BLACK LIGHTNING: Character Interviews & Pulling From Comics

"Cress Williams, China Anne McClain, Nafeesa Williams and the rest of the cast of CW's Black Lightning discuss how much the show pulls from the comics in its depiction of Black Lightning and his daughter, Thunder."
"Comic Book Adaptations" is a tricky premise these days, when more likely the primary function - at the very least - was to pull the powers and origins stories from the original comicbook-source, and "adapt" it to other mediums, be it television live action, or feature films. Even animated projects/features might want to do their own take on the source. I am of the mind that I'd be interested to see either an evolution of (less likely), or reiteration of (more likely, for better or for worse) of whatever character or story, than to see a flat-out "copy" of the comicbook (But then again I enjoyed Zack Snyder's "Watchmen", so...).

Seeing the cast of The CW's BLACK LIGHTNING talking about "pulling from comics" (and other projects of similar ilk), always interests me, as so much as different people react to what they read and get from the comicbook pages in offering ways, IMHO.

Nevertheless, there are more behind-the-scenes interviews with the cast for BLACK LIGHTNING, scheduled to premiere Tuesday, January 16 at 9/8c on The CW!
