Television-themed Characters in 1/6th-scale from Threezero @ the CICF 2016
Among the selection of collectible-goodness on display at their booth for the CICF Expo in Guangzhou, were television-themed characters in 1/6th-scale, from Hong Kong’s Threezero - including AMC’s “The Walking Dead” and “Breaking Bad”, HBO’s “Game of Thrones” Sandor Clegane "The Hound”, and “HANNIBAL” from NBC!
Scroll down for some snaps to gawk at, and a few words.
AMC’s “The Walking Dead” series continues with “Merle Dixon”, joining the previously released Rick Grimes, Michonne's Pet Zombies (Reviewed #onTOYSREVIL) in 1/6th-scale.
This particular license has been pretty slow to evolve and add to it’s ranks of characters, with the show currently in it’s 7th Season. I am sure fans are, and have been hankering for more tho…
HBO’s “Game of Thrones” has seen a wider range of 1/6th figures released before “Sandor "The Hound” Clegane” (the widest catalog thus far from Threezero) - starting with Tyrion Lannister, Eddard Stark, Jon Snow (w/ Ghost) and Jaime Lannister … I think it’s high time they released a FEMALE character figure, don’t you? :)
AMC’s “Breaking Bad” licensed releases continues forth with the latest “Heisenberg & Jesse Hazmat Suit Combo Set” featuring the intrepid duo in their “infamous” yellow hazmat suits (Blogged #onTOYSREVIL), adding to the already released ”Heisenberg” / Walter White and Jesse Pinkman individual 1/6 figures.
“Breaking Bad” aired thru 5 seasons, from 2008 to 2013, and it still has “legs” with collectibles releases such as these from Threezero.
“Dr. Hannibal Lecter” from HANNIBAL is their latest TV-themed release, with the figure currently available to pre-order here on www.threezerostore.com (for US$150) for an est. 2nd quarter 2017 delivery. I’ve never followed this series at all, so cannot stir up any excitement beyond these images LOL
One thing to note: All these properties are licensed products, and not bootlegged or paralleled hence the price point(s). Like Hot Toys does Hollywood feature films, Threezero does TV, anime, video game properties AND films! They are one of the more notable brands for premiere mid-to-high-end collectibles featuring articulated bodies and fabric clothing.
I have only had the chance to review and own one (two) of their products, and they are exquisite. Before delving into licensed 1/6th, Threezero had been known in the collectible toy community for their splendid “urban vinyls” since the early 2000s.
Threezero boss Kim Fung Wong is also one of the principles of ThreeA Toys, which may be a reason why tons of folks and collectors still mix their releases and brands up :p
You can stay connected to their via their Facebook / Twitter / Instagram!
