SCREAM QUEENS PLOT: "On the twentieth anniversary of a 1995 sorority pledge which went wrong, a college campus is rattled by a series of murders." (IMDb)
The only word constantly swirling thru my mind as I watched SCREAM QUEENS past midnight this morning, was "bizarre". But somehow weirdly, in a "good" way.
A massive sendup x mashup collision of 90's celluloid cheese ("kitsch" is more 70-80s, no?), with cliched characterizations (featuring characters that put the term "OTT" into silent shame), careening into constant car crashes, all to an awesome soundtrack of retro 90s tracks (some remixed and updated), relentlessly leading to a farce made glossy, a constant string of catastrophic "WTFs" that you cannot take your eyes off the screen from! … well, at the very least for the first 2 episodes … I'm looking forward to the 3rd later this evening :)
Here are some instagrammed pics (snapped off the laptop screen as I watched it, because really, I need a life beyond Instagram), and some stills + show descriptions swiped off the internets :)
