Official Trailer for THE TICK Season 2 on HBO
New episodes of THE TICK returns to Prime Video on April 5th, with the second season seeing Tick and Arthur return to defend the City from new villains and old enemies, of which it seems plenty of characters will be introduced!
What I am continually "amazed" at this, is the creation / adaptation of a non-mainstream character into mainstream battling alongside the pop-culture recognisable iconology, just like when indie comics are placed alongside the Big 3 comics on the comic bookshop racks! The multiple characters introduce feels like a flip of the mite to the current crop of superhero-genre projects too (but that's just my POV :p).
ABOUT THE TICK SEASON 2: "Tick and Arthur have freed the City from The Terror — now they must defend it from new villains and old enemies. That is if they can convince AEGIS, the government agency in charge of superhero regulation, that they deserve the job. But now that the City is ‘safe enough to protect’ Tick and Arthur begin to see they’ve got competition..."
ABOUT THE TICK: "In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an accountant with mental health issues and zero powers comes to suspect his city is owned by a global super villain long-thought dead. As he struggles to uncover the conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero. They launch into an adventure brimming with crazed archvillains, blood-soaked vigilantes, and superhuman freakery."
THE TICK has a costume upgrade for season 2 - which is
essentially a callback to the original comicbook source!

WHO-IS: "The Tick is a fictional superhero created by cartoonist Ben Edlund in 1986 as a newsletter mascot for the New England Comics chain of Boston area comic book stores. The character is a spoof of American comic book superheroes.
After its creation, the character spun off into an independent comic book series in 1988, and gained mainstream popularity through an animated TV series on Fox in 1994. Two live-action TV series, a video game and various merchandise have also been based on the character. IGN's list of the Top 100 Comic Book Heroes of All Time ranked The Tick as #57."
