#watched: AMERICAN GODS Season 2 Episode 1 *SPOILERS*

AMERICAN GODS Season 2 Episode 1 had launched, and I managed to binge all episodes of Season 1 before I devoured Ep2 of Season 2 - for which I am now featuring/pieceing together a rough chronological sequence of images for here on this blogpost, so fair warning folks: SPOILERS AHEAD!

The episodes starts off with 2:22 minutes of story recap for Season 1 ("PREVIOUSLY ON AMERICAN GODS"). The above video is NOT IT, but is a decent facsimile to the notion, IMHO. You might want to check out THIS POST featuring a recap of all the characters in Season 1 :)

Opening Title Sequence is similar to Season One's, except for personal/crew changes (*Which I assumed would be the case, but did not really eagle-eyed any, tbh :p). Check out my previous blogpost to see a breakdown of the visuals.

Immediately after the "Opening Title Sequence", we go straight into the above featured Opening Scene (previously featured), which features the New Gods: "Technical Boy" and "Mr World" heading into the "Black Briar" bunker, where eventually Mr World calls into action "Mr Town" (whom we will see more of in Episode 2).

Emily Browning ("Laura Moon") and Ricky Whittle ("Shadow Moon") talk about their roles. which features in the next scene, in a webisode of "Deep Dive: House On The Rock". I am still perturbed by WHY everyone could get into the same car, much less a road-trip, after what has happened in light of the revelations in Season 1's finale ... but perhaps it is as Shadow said, that he had wanted to "believe" in Wednesday, as he has his dead wife come to "life".

After an amount of time chit-chatting at the entrance gate, we the viewers get to enter the doors of "House On The Rock" - which I honestly did not know at all the existence of - thinking the production made it all up - until I researched it a little bit more online!UPDATED here is a little featurette with Neil Gaiman speaking about the influence the location had for him, with the video including scenes from the episode = PERFECT!

Again we spend a whole lot of time chatting and setting the scene, especially at the mechanical fortune tellers'. But what I should have recognised as an obvious foreshadowing of events that happened later, was Wednesday with "Zorya Vechernyaya" ("the Evening Star"), and their "last dance" together...

A (partial) look at the "Hall Of The Gods" scene, revealing the "Old Gods" in "God Mode". This is perhaps the most anticipated scene in the season(s) so far, to see all the gods in full reveal, IMHO.

The subsequent sequences feature the "Old Gods" in their human guise and having a grand ol'time at a truck-stop diner, before they were gunned down by a masked sniper, with *GUESS WHO* being the first casualty in the "war between Gods". Shadow Moon rushes out and gets himself "caught", no doubt whom we see in Episode 2...
